Karel Gomez is the CEO and Primary Principal of an Engineering and Construction firm serving the telecommunications industry across the country.
A refugee from Cuba, his career began at age 17 with his first job as a service representative for BellSouth, which is now AT&T. Gomez climbed the corporate ladder and over the next 30 years, Karel has served in senior-level bilingual operations as a leader in teleco infrastructure, business management & development, and minority-business development & guidance, both in the public and private sectors.
He now leads his own nationally known firm called DraftPros, which under Karel’s leadership and guidance, has grown from 6 employees to what it is today, which is more than 400 employees and independent contractors in only five years.
Karel's primary focus is on giving back to the community. Since 2018, Gomez has been a spokesperson for the US Department of Transportation Small Business Southeast Region office, where he guides small-business owners on managing the troubles of growing a business.
Karel is also a member and supporter of the EPIC Foundation, which helps students from low-income communities get into college or find jobs.
